Sign #6 - 9 Signs You Have Costly Email Habits

The Reality:

Missing out on new customers is tough for a business.

It's even worse if it's because you haven't followed them up.

Businesses, small or large, rarely have a strong process for following up on leads or sales opportunities. Many of those enquiries originate as emails, perhaps from a website form or a referral or recommendation from another customer.

The Consequences:

Capturing leads on a spreadsheet requires a lot of data entry and disciplined staff to maintain and action it. There is a lot of potential for this process to fall over.

Leaving the emails in your inbox to try and remember to come back to in a reasonable amount of time isn't going to do the trick either. This is an unreliable method that will not help your sales conversions.

Flagging these emails so that they sit with a huge long list of other actionable emails means you're not giving them the true importance they require. It's also likely they will get lost in that list and every time you look at all those flags, you'll feel overwhelmed (mostly because you can't compartmentalise the various tasks within).

Are you spending marketing dollars on any form of advertising in your business or company you work for? If you are letting leads fall through your fingers because there is no reliable follow up process - this is a waste of money and opportunity.

Imagine if you could put a bulletproof system in place - think of the upper hand you'd have over your competitors who are not taking advantage of the leads in your industry.
